Provita Lacteal Horse and Foal Paste

Strong starts matter!  A diverse and healthy gut microbiome is tied to a strong immune system, but foals are born without any bacteria in their gastrointestinal tract leaving them vulnerable. 

Lacteal concentrated probiotic paste helps to rapidly establish populations of intestinal bacteria for gut immunity and digestive health in foals.  Lacteal paste can also be used in horses and foals to rebalance the microbiome following digestive upsets, viral or parasite infections, antibiotic use, or periods of stress.

Each 35g tube contains 8 doses for a foal up to 12 weeks, 6 doses for a foal over 12 weeks or 4 doses for a weanling - adult horse.

Features and Benefits:

·         Contains live cultures of 3 probiotic bacteria: Enterococcus faecium, Bacillus licheniformis, and Bacillus subtilis to rapidly establish a healthy gut microbiome.

·         Contains prebiotic Brewer’s Yeast to help nourish and stabilise the intestinal flora.

·         Contains added B vitamins which can be depleted when gut bacteria are not in balance.

·         Beneficial bacteria cultures restore the natural balance of gut microbiome after viral or parasite infections, antibiotic use, or during stressful periods, and also help to protect the intestinal barrier.

Feeding & Use:

·         Foals – 4g per day from day 3-10 of birth

·         Foals (over 12 weeks) – 6g per day for a minimum of 3 days following digestive upset or antibiotic use

·         Weanlings/ Yearlings/ Adult horses – 8g per day for a minimum of 4 days during times of stress

·         Each 35g tube contains 8 doses for a foal up to 12 weeks, 6 doses for a foal over 12 weeks or 4 doses for a weanling - adult horse.
